ABOUT THE FIRM

Cameron Marshall is a lifelong resident of Charleston, South Carolina. He graduated from Davidson College in 1986 and received his law degree from the University of South Carolina in 1991. Mr. Marshall served as an assistant state prosecutor in Charleston from 1991-2000. He has been a solo practitioner since 2000. His major practice areas are wrongful death, serious personal injury, medical malpractice and criminal defense, including many DUI and drug offense cases. While in law school, Mr. Marshall was a recipient of the American Jurisprudence Award, given to the law student with the highest achievement in the area of torts, which encompasses the study of personal injury law. While serving as a state prosecutor, Mr. Marshall was selected to attend the National Trial College in Houston, Texas, a comprehensive multi-week program taught by some of the country’s finest trial lawyers. Mr. Marshall holds an AV Preeminent Peer Review Rating from Martindale-Hubbel, their highest rating for legal ability and ethics.

Alec Zarif is an associate attorney at the Law Office of Cameron L. Marshall. Mr. Zarif graduated from Roanoke College in 2017 with a degree in criminal justice and earned his law degree from Charleston School of Law in 2020. While in law school, Mr. Zarif was a member of the healthcare law society, received the CALI Award for Future Excellence in medical malpractice, and was recognized for exceptional pro bono service for his work on federal criminal cases assigned to the firm under the Criminal Justice Act. As an associate attorney at the firm, Mr. Zarif focuses on pretrial litigation and motion practice so that our clients can present the strongest case possible at trial. Mr. Zarif represents clients in matters involving personal injury, contract disputes, civil rights violations, and criminal defense.

Sophie has experience as a paralegal in a variety of legal fields, including immigration, criminal, family, and personal injury law. She is fluent in Spanish thanks to growing up in four Latin American countries. After graduating from Columbia University in 2020, she relocated to Charleston to escape the snow and has not regretted that decision in the slightest. She is dedicated to attentively and openly communicating with clients to facilitate seamless collaboration between our attorneys and clients to achieve the best possible outcome for their cases.
